Job Title: INCLUSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

 

Reports To: RECREATION COORDINATOR

 

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, the Inclusion Support Specialist provides accommodating support to ensure participants have successful and meaningful experiences reaching their goals in CIR programs.  Supports offered may be one-to-one, with small groups, or general program support.

Primary Duties:

  1. Provides instructional skills to participants;
  2. Works with program staff to develop behavior plans;
  3. Encourages participants to make their own choices;
  4. Provides feedback to program staff on behaviors, challenges, and accomplishments;
  5. Assists with program set-up and tear-down;
  6. Promotes and facilitates the independence of participants;
  7. Completes reports and task sheets as directed by the program department;
  8. Attends required training and meetings.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Adheres to established policies and procedures.

2.Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

1.This position requires a High School diploma, GED, or current high school enrollment.

2.The candidate must possess the ability to work and effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and abilities and determine re-directing when necessary.

3.The candidate must be willing to protect participant rights and be able to maintain confidentiality.

4.The candidate must possess the awareness necessary to ensure participant safety.

5.The candidate must pass a background check and drug screen as conditions of employment.

Working Conditions:

  1. The Inclusion Support Specialist will be expected to participate in program activities that take place in a variety of weather and terrain conditions.
  2. The program activity schedule requires occasional evening and weekend work.
  3. The ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds may be required.
